Just finished HBP about an hour ago. Very sad about Dumbledore's death, though I'm not as angry at J.K. as some of you seem to be. Harry is alone now, it's his job to finish off Voldemort, no one can protect him. As for the HBP, I was led on for most of the book thinking it was Riddle. I had no idea it would be Snape. Nice job JK!

Aw shit, guys, I haven'T read it yet and already know it. Fine. Thanks. Hahaha. Man I always liked Dumbledore. But somehow I felt that Snape was a false one.

Yeah, I agree with Eins. Shit, I kinda readd the ending.
Now I just need the details. ANy idea how to get an accessible copy? Book serve's is screwed, and file transfer takes too long. Just wondering if there are other online resources? Hey, better yet, somewhere just to read teh book?

Thanks,
Sweet Mercedes

snape doesn't have a chance now.
Harry'll kill him in 7.
then harry'll die.

Damn it! I didn't read it and now I know the ending? *pouts* Ah well. lol now I'm really curious, why would Snape side with Dumbledore and then go over to the dark side again? Damn I have tot to read this book!

Post 14 by maccafan (Opinionated Bastard) on Friday, 12-Aug-2005 11:59:40

Okay, here's my theory. I think it is a clever ruse by dumbledore and snape to make voldemort think that harry is alone. All this time, since the first book dumbledore has said that he trusts snape. I don't think J. K. would continually put that exact phrase in that far back and continue it to the end of the 6th book. just so that snape would turn on him. Continued in next post.

Post 15 by maccafan (Opinionated Bastard) on Friday, 12-Aug-2005 12:02:38

My theory is that snape and dumbledore cooked up this scheme to fool mr. riddle. but they couldn't let anyone else, including harry, in on it. Dumbledore may just be sleeping. They put him in a tomb. easily appearated from. Snape disguised his spell so that noone would detect the ruse. My opinion, Dumbledore will be back at the end of book 7 with severus snape helping him out.
just my thoughts.

yeah thanks guys for the spoiler .. though I am sitll halfway through the third book so it's kinda doubtful I would have known about this for another lifetime anyway :) Lol

Post 19 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 24-Aug-2005 12:58:26

Nah it's my theory too that Dumbledore may not be dead, that it was just a trick. Think about it; Dumbledore and Snape can communicate with their minds so they could have easily shared a last instruction on the parapet.

Post 20 by Damia (I'm oppinionated deal with it.) on Wednesday, 23-Nov-2005 18:27:55

you can always be pesamistic like me and say that jk has made fools out of us all during the whole series, and it's dumboldoor who turned evil. I mean he got the howcruxes and such so he has them in his power couldn't it be a ruize? hmm

Post 21 by firebolt (Veteran Zoner) on Friday, 09-Dec-2005 12:19:04

Nah, I don't believe Dumblidor is still alive. I always hated and suspected that evil two faced bastard Snape just like many of the characters did. Dumblidor had a very sharp mind, but sometimes he was a bit out of touch with things so he couldn't see Snape's flaws. If some of you haven't read the whole book yet and don't want a spoiler, better stop reading my post now... I also think that Snape, though he wouldn't admit it to anyone, was secretly in love with Harry's mom Lilly, and he resented himself for that cause she wasn't a pureblood. He must have convinced Dumblidore he regreted James and Lilly's deaths because he loved her and that's what made that wise old man trust him... Harry's job is to finish off Voldemort on his own and I'm sure that's what he'll do. If he dies in the end that's when I'd get mad at jk.

Audio versions of all hp books can be found on emule by the way. Takes a long time to download sometimes but it's worth the wait.

I've heard Macaffan's theory elsewhere, I hope that is the case. When are they expecting book 7 to be out?

Post 23 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2005 14:34:58

but don't tell me anymore. i'm reading it at the moment

I actually had the same thought about snape being inlove with lily. but I think that Dumbledor is dead, remember during the unbreakable curse, when he was asked to finish it if Drako couldn't? Well his hand twitched and he said he would, and you can't break that. And drako was ordered to kill dumbledor, so in a way, I think that Snape didn't have a choice.
